History
Espoo, Finland (Nokia Siemens Networks) / Melbourne, Australia (CommTel Network Solutions) August 10th 2008
Avara Technologies was established in 2002 by Nokia Siemens Networks’ Australian Channel Partner, CommTel Network Solutions, and former Nokia R&D Engineers, as an independent research and development enterprise. Its mandate was to provide advanced telecommunications products for Australia’s utility and infrastructure providers. In order to meet the demands of these customers, Avara has developed three new Dynanet cards for use in the Nokia Siemens Networks’ Dynanet family.
The cards allow existing Dynanet products to be upgraded to deliver true broadband Ethernet and IP functionality. The solid reliability and availability of the Avara technologies coupled with high customer satisfaction has led to an OEM supply agreement being established with Nokia Siemens Networks.
According to Jorgen Holmstrom, Product Manager for the Dynanet product family, ”We discovered there was a similar need for Avara’s Ethernet and IP functionality in other markets and decided to go for an OEM arrangement. The active process started in mid 2007 and a contract was signed less than a year later. We are now launching these new Dynanet products worldwide and the interest from our customers is huge.”
